In the early 1990's Donnie Read, who is the current Chief Executive Officer and Co-Owner of Twin Oaks Juvenile Development, Inc., had a vision for a facility and program that would help troubled youth become spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially fit. That is, provide the youth with enough intended habilitation opportunistic activities where he can recognize the need for becoming a whole person, so change can occur. In 1997, after much traveling around the state, research and careful planning, he developed, using natural principles, the philosophy and principles which have become the
foundation for all of Twin Oaks' programs.

Established in 1998, Twin Oaks Juvenile Development, Inc., is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit, agency that was incorporated for the sole purpose of providing a quality continuum of care to youth and their families.
