Twin Oaks Juvenile Development, Inc. is dedicated to improving quality of care in all service areas.  The Meal Assurance Committee (MAC) initiative is specifically designed to  monitor food quality/meal quality at all Twin Oaks programs.  Twin Oaks currently utilizes Chartwells, Inc. as the catering contractor.   The MAC's sole purpose is to ensure that the food provided is consistent with the contract in all regards, including:  Meal quality, meal consistency, adherence to posted menu, and assurance that identified issues are corrected via a documented corrective action.
Here is how it works:

Each program will have a Meal Assurance Committee- comprised of volunteers who are interested in ensuring that the food served to our youth is nutritious, balanced, and tasty.

The Meal Assurance Committee (MAC) members will review the menu which is posted on this website.  During the week, the MACS will review that the meals documented in the menu are in fact the same meals served to the youth.  The MACS will send this information to a designated leader for each program, the Big MAC.  The MACS do not have to survey every meal- it is hoped that each program will audit three meals per week.  In addition to this process, we ask that the MACS or Big MAC snap a picture of the meal.   This picture does not need to be high quality; the pictures taken from a cellular phone are perfect.

The Big MAC will send the pictures and any discrepancies via this website.  Each discrepancy must be addressed in writing by Chartwells, Inc.

The weekly data, along with grievances, and quarterly client satisfaction survey data  will be entered into a database with results posted on this website.
